DR. GAIL GROSS SAYS 'LET'S TALK'
Parents and Kids Tuning in to Radio Show for Expert Advice
HOUSTON, January 8, 2001 - Dr. Gail Gross, a nationally recognized expert on juvenile education and development issues, is helping parents and kids deal with a variety of social and emotional problems on her radio talk show, "Let's Talk." Dr. Gross tackles callers' concerns, which range from homework problems to school shootings, with a combination of clinical expertise and sincere human compassion.
Dr. Gross draws on her years of experience as an educator, scholar and mother to address the issues facing parents and kids. She also welcomes expert guests from around the country to discuss topics such as nutrition, Attention Deficit Disorder, and body image. Recent guests on "Let's Talk" have included Dr. Dean Ornish, Arianna Huffington, Sharon Bush, Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee and U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Rod Paige.
"I think we're really helping people who are dealing with many of the difficult issues that come up during childhood and adolescence, and that's what I hoped to do with 'Let's Talk,'" Dr. Gross says. "It's a very gratifying feeling to know that I'm able to use my years of experience and education to help listeners, as well as people around the world joining 'Let's Talk' via our Web site."
Dr. Gross is the co-founder of The Cuney Home School, in partnership with Texas Southern University, a first of its kind laboratory school created to educate parents and children from the Cuney Housing Project. She holds an Ed.D. in education, curriculum and instruction from the University of Houston, and is a former teacher in the Houston Independent School District.
"Let's Talk" airs every Saturday morning on Houston's KCOH-AM 1430 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and can be heard over the Internet at KCOH 1430 AM Radio, HOUSTON, TX. Archives of the show are also available on the "Let's Talk" web site.

Focusing on Children and Education
Guests Include Goldie Hawn and U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Rod Paige
HOUSTON, May 28, 2002 - Dr. Gail Gross, a nationally recognized expert on juvenile education, behavior and development, is now hosting a weekly segment focusing on children and education that airs on Tuesday's at 12:30 p.m. and is rebroadcast at 10 p.m. on WeekDay, Houston PBS/Channel 8's live, local signature program.
Dr. Gross draws on her years of experience as an author, educator and mother to address the issues facing parents and children. She also welcomes experts from around the country to discuss topics such as Sharon Bush speaking about the Houston Kipp Academy for at-risk students and Dr. Judith Feigin, director of the Learning Support Center at Texas Children's Hospital, discussing the center's learning program for autistic children.
Gross' segment also has a national appeal with such guests as Quincy Jones talking about his work to bridge the gap between wealth and poverty by promoting education and Goldie Hawn discussing conflict resolution education for children.

PAX-TV in Houston is also running a series of 12 half-hour programs featuring
Dr. Gross interviewing celebrities, politicians, physicians, authors and educators on their involvement in promoting education and the welfare of children. These in-depth interviews will air every Thursday morning during the spring and summer. Highlights include Alma Powell who will speak about mentoring and Norman Lear who addresses the importance of voting.
In addition to her segment on WeekDay, for the past two years, Dr. Gross has hosted her own radio show "Let's Talk" on 1430 KCOH-AM and on the worldwide web at KCOH 1430 AM Radio, HOUSTON, TX. She also leads a monthly chat on Parenthoodplace.com.
